How does this production embrace sustainability?: Plastic problem brings together two of Alvaro Catalán de Ocón's most vindictive works, Plastic Rivers and PET Lamp.

This project is a manifesto that conveys a critical perspective on plastic pollution, especially in rivers and oceans, due to the global sale of waste from rich countries to poor ones.

The Plastic Rivers and the PET Lamp projects are much more than a work of protest design. They are handmade by artisans around the world recycling plastic bottles to create new ways to empower local communities.
Synopsis: The artist Álvaro Catalán de Ocón (ACDO) imagines a dystopian future where plastic, due to its scarcity, acquires great value, forcing us to collect our own waste from the oceans. In this scenario that the artist proposes, we are forced to face our own actions while we meticulously collect the garbage that we have thrown into the seas. It's a bleak future where plastic shortages not only impact our economy but also force an urgent reckoning with the havoc we've wreaked on our marine environment.
